Meta analysis of influence of brushing teeth on incidence of ventilator associated pneumonia in patients with me-chanical ventilation
Abstract：Objective:To evaluate the influence of brushing teeth on the incidence of ventilator associated pneu‐monia (VAP) in patients with mechanical ventilation .Methods:By searching the relevant literatures both at home and in abroad .Cochrane systematic review was used to do Meta analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCT) and experimental studies (CCT) which met the inclusion criteria .Results:A total of 19 RCT and 1 CCT were included .Meta analysis showed that patients with mechanical ventilation could effectively reduce the inci‐dence of VAP .At the same time ,it could reduce plaque index ,shorten mechanical ventilation time and length of stay in ICU ,reduce the mortality rate and reduce the incidence of oral disease .Conclusion:tooth brushing for pa‐tients with mechanical ventilation can not only effectively reduce the incidence of VAP ,but also shorten the length of stay .
