Influence of peer education on quality of life of breast cancer patients receiving postoperative chemotherapy
Abstract:Objective:To probe into the influence of peer education on the quality of life of breast cancer patients receiving postoperative chemotherapy.Methods:A total of 108 breast cancer patients receiving postoperative chemotherapy were randomly divided into control group and experimental group,54 cases in each.The patients in control group received the routine health education,while the patients in observation group were given peer education on the basis of the routine health education.The patients in both groups were evaluated with QLQ C30 when entering into the groups and after three months of interventions.Results:There were statistically sig-nificant differences in overall quality of life,five functional dimensions (physical function,role function,cogni-tive function,emotional function,social function)and seven symptom dimensions (fatigue,pain,nausea,vomi-ting,insomnia,appetite loss,constipation,diarrhea)scores between both groups (P <0.05).Conclusion:Peer ed-ucation may improve the quality of life of breast cancer patients receiving postoperative chemotherapy.
