Clinical observation on acupuncture therapy combined with TCM nursing intervention for patients with liver stagna-tion type of facial paralysis

Abstract：Objective:To observe the clinical curative effect of acupuncture therapy combined with TCM nursing intervention for patients with liver stagnation type of facial paralysis.Methods:A total of 57 cases of patients with liver stagnation type of facial paralysis who met the inclusion criteria received staging acupuncture thera-py,simultaneously the nursing staff gave them nursing intervention including acupoint pressure,emotional counseling and health education.Then to compare the scores of Facial Nerve Function Grading Scale(H B), Depression Scale(SDS)and Anxiety Scale(SAS)score in patients before and after the treatment and to carry out the curative effect analysis.Results:After treatment,13 cases healed,12 cases were markedly effective,effective in 25 cases,invalid in seven cases,and the total effective rate was 87.72%;patients’HB,SDS,SAS scores were lowered compared with that before treatment(P <0.05 );ipsilateral facial blood flow increased perfusion than before treatment(P <0.05).Ipsilateral blood flow perfusion were increased before the treatment(P <0.05 ). Conclusion:On the basis of acupuncture treatment,nursing intervention can effectively relieve depression and anxiety in patients with liver stagnation type of facial paralysis,promote whole blood running,make facial vein blood gets raised,so as to improve the symptoms of facial paralysis.
