Influence of health policy cognition on health seeking behavior and medical experience of community residents
Abstract:Objective:To know about the influence of cognition level of community residents on health policies on their health seeking behaviors and medical experience.Methods:A total of 542 residents in 12 communities in Xi’an city were selected.Through the questionnaire survey to collect the relevant information,including general demographic data,cognition status on health policy,health seeking behavior and medical experience etc.Results:The health policy cognition of community residents will affect the patients whether to treat after illness as well as whether to see doctor in the past 1 year due to illness or discomfort (P <0.05).The medical experience of community residents with different cognitive degree on health policy was different (P <0.01).Conclusion:The health policy cognitive level of residents can affect their health seeking behaviors and medical experience.It sug-gests that we should improve the cognitive level of the community residents on health policy,improve their health seeking behaviors and enhance the medical experience.
