Study on correlation between sleep quality and anxiety,depression of medical undergraduates
Abstract:Objective:To survey the status of sleep quality ,anxiety and depression of medical students ,and to probe into the correlation between them ,so as to provide a theoretical basis for improving the sleep quality of medical students .Methods:The first grade to the fourth grade university students were selected from clinical , nursing and public health college in Jilin University were investigated with stratified random sampling by using Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI) scale ,self rating anxiety scale (SAS) and self rating depression scale (SDS) .Results:Medical students’ PSQI total score was 6 .11 ± 2 .61 .PSQI score≥7 was taken as judged stand‐ard of sleep disorders .And 41 .06% of the students had sleep disorders .There were statistically significant difference in sleep quality amongdifferent genders of students .There were statistically significant difference in sleep time in different schools .And there were statistically significant difference in sleep time and sleep efficien‐cy among different grades(P<0 .05 or P<0 .01) .The first grade and fourth grade of university students had higher PSQI score .And the anxiety ,depression were correlated with their sleep quality .Conclusion:The sleep status of medical students is not optimistic .Which should arouse the attention of school administrators and teachers .
