Study on correlation between medication compliance and belief of elderly hypertension patients
Abstract:Objective:To probe into the correlation between medication compliance and belief of elderly hyperten‐sion patients .Methods:A total of 108 elderly hypertension patients received survey by using the Morisky medi‐cation compliance questionnaire and medication belief scale .Results:The score of patients’ medication compli‐ance was (4 .95 ± 2 .07) ,the 66 .6% of patients had poor medication compliance ,20 .4% of patients had medium level of medication compliance ,13 .0 % of patients had good medication compliance;the score of patients’ medi‐cation necessary dimension was higher than that of drug concerns dimension ;the patients’medication compli‐ance was negatively related to the medication belief(P<0 .01) ,it was positively related to the medication neces‐sity belief (P<0 .01) ,and negatively related to medication concerns belief(P<0 .01) .Conclusion:The medica‐tion compliance of elderly hypertension patients has correlation with the medication belief .Through assessing the patients’ medication belief ,the medical and nursing personnel can identify the patients’poor cognition in time and guide the patients and their families to establish the correct medication belief effectively ,so as to im‐prove their medication compliance .
