Therapeutic effect of concurrent chemoradiotherapy combined with pelvic hyperthermia for mid advanced cervical cancer patients
Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect and side effects of concurrent chemoradiotherapy combined with pelvic hyperthermia for mid advanced cervical cancer patients. Methods:A total of 97 cases of Ⅱb~Ⅲb stage cervical cancer patients diagnosed in our hospital were randomly divided into observation group with 48 ca-ses and control group with 49 cases. The patients in control group received concurrent chemoradiotherapy, and the patients in observation group received concurrent chemoradiotherapy combined with pelvic hyperthermia. Results:The 36 cases in observation group reached complete remission(75.0%),8 cases with partial remission(16.7%), and the total effective rate was 91.7%,the 1 year of tumor free survival rate was 50.0%;The 29 cases in control group reached complete remission(59.2%),4 cases with partial remission(8.2%),the total effective rate was 67.3%,and 1 year of tumor free survival rate was 28.6%.There was statistically significant difference in 1 year of tumor free survival rate between both groups(P <0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in 3 year of overall survival rate between both groups(P >0.05 ).Conclusion:Concurrent chemoradiotherapy com-bined with pelvic hyperthermia has good short term curative effect for mid advanced cervical cancer patients and no serious complications occurred. It is a safe and effective mode for treatment of mid advanced cervical cancer patients.
