Survey and analysis on work status quo and core competency of specialist nurses in a third grade class A hospital

Abstract：Objective:To know about the work status quo and core competency of specialist nurses.Methods:A total of 125 specialist nurses in a third grade class A hospital were surveyed by using convenience sampling.Re-sults:The roles positioning of specialist nurses was not clear.The scores of direct nursing ability,teaching guid-ance,information support,communication and coordination,health education ability of specialist nurses were at a higher level.And professional development ,management ability,scientific research ability scores were at the medium level.Conclusion:Hospital managers should identify the responsibilities and roles of specialist nurses, strengthen the nursing research ability training and improve comprehensive competency of specialist nurses.
