Analysis on happiness survey of elderly people in pension institutions and its related factors

Abstract：Obj ective:To investigate the level of subj ective well being of older people in the elderly pension institutions of Fujian province,and to analyze its influencing factors.Mthods:Totally 421 older people were re-cruited from 38 elderly pension institutions in Fujian province.They were investigated with the Memorial University of Newfoundland Scale of Hap-piness(MUNSH)and a self designed questionnaire about the demograph-ic data.Results:The average score of subjective well being was 34.19± 12.38.Sports activities,temperament,family relationship,the number of chronic diseases,hobbies and monthly income were influencing factors of subjective well being,which explained 19.5% of the total variance.Con-clusion:Elderly people in pension institutions in Fujian province,relatively high have subj ective well being,Which is close to the level of happiness of elderly living at home.The elderly in pension institutions have a more positive attitude towards life,and without negative impact because in pen-sion institutions from home.
