Study on correlation between health promoting behaviors and self care behaviors of community elderly COPD patients
Abstract：Obj ective:To know about the status quo of health promoting behaviors and self care behaviors of community elderly patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)and the relationship be-tween them.Methods:A total of 9 7 cases of COPD patients in 4 commu-nity service centers in Changsha city were selected and investigated by using general information questionnaire,health promoting behaviors questionnaire and self care behaviors scale for COPD patients.Results:The scores of health promoting behaviors and self care behaviors of the community elderly COPD patients were respective (117.86±4.94)and (89.07±1.51),and both them were in the medium level;self care be-haviors were positively correlated with health promoting behaviors(r=0.497,P<0.05).Conclusion:There is correlation between health pro-moting behaviors and self care behaviors of community elderly patients with COPD in Changsha city.Community health workers should think highly of evaluating and enhancing the patients’self care capacity in the work,and make the patients better implement health promoting behav-iors,and then to enhance their health promoting behaviors and self care capacity and improve their quality of life.
