Influence of early structured psychological intervention on depression and behavior problems in children with traffic accident trauma

Abstract：Obj ective:To probe into influence of early structured psycho-logical intervention on depression and behavior problems in children with traffic accident trauma.Methods:A total of 73 children with traffic acci-dent trauma were randomly divided into intervention group and control group by using random number table method.Patients in control group received the conventional health education and psychological care after the trauma;in addition to routine nursing care,patients in intervention group received early structured psychological intervention.The both groups of patients were investigated with Children's depression inventory (CDI)and Achenbach’s Child Behavior Checklist(CBCL)for three times respectively at T0 ,T1 ,T2 .Results:There was statistical significant difference in main effect in children’s depression,total score of behavior problems,withdrawal behavior,body complained,anxiety,depression and aggression between both groups (P<0.01).The total score of depres-sion and behavior problems,withdrawal behavior,body complained,anxi-ety,depression,social problem and aggression were improved significant-ly compared with control group at two and sixth months after interven-tion(P<0.05).the main effect of intervention time out of depression and behavioral problems,withdrawn behavior,somatic complaints,anxiety and depression,social problems and aggressive behaviors was significant (P<0.05 or P<0.01).With the extension of the intervention period, the dimension scores and total score decreased in intervention group and control group.Conclusion:Early implementation of structured psycholog-ical interventions can improve recent depression and behavioral problems in children with traffic accident trauma.
