Abstract:Obj ective:To investigate the characteristics of migrant workers’risk perception and coping behaviors on sudden infectious diseases,to provide evidences for searching for suitable risk communi-cation pathway for migrant workers.Method:A total of 632 migrant workers from 6 factories in Wenzhou city were investigated by using self compiled questionnaire. Results:The risk perception score was 7~22 (13.24 ± 2.74),and there was statistically significant difference be-tween male and female migrant workers(P<0.05);the coping behav-ior score was 6~18(12.66±2.97),and there was statistically signifi-cant difference among different age, gender and educational level of mi-grant workers(P<0.05 or P<0.01);the risk perception was related with coping behaviors (r=0.081,P=0.041);the risk perception in de-scending order were:the prognosis of disease, prediction of disease de-velopments,risk of their relatives suffering disease, risk of suffering disease themselves, infectiousness, and panic degree;coping strategies in descending order were:paying attention to relevant report, avoiding touching poultry, seeing doctor, washing hands, self monitoring and wearing masks. Conclusion:Migrant workers living in concentrated ar-eas for a long time, but coping behaviors have difference because of gender, age and educational level, which indicate that besides the com-munication of risks, some interventions should be adopted to promote their behaviors.
