Influence of systematic nursing intervention on breastfeeding skills and exclusive breastfeeding in different periods of postpartum

Abstract：Obj ectives:To probe into influence of systematic nursing in-tervention on breastfeeding skills and exclusive breastfeeding in different periods of postpartum.Methods:Patients in control group received con-ventional nursing.Patients in experimental group received exclusive breastfeeding and comprehensive nursing intervention on the theory of planned behavior guidance,filling in LATCHES breastfeeding skills scale respectively at 3 d,6 week,3 months after delivery.Results:Patients of test group 6 weeks postpartum,3 months of LATCHES breastfeeding skills scores were respectively 33.01 ± 2.38 and 33.55 ± 2.39,which were higher than that in control group (31.00±3.09,31.98±4.29).The differences were statistically significant (P<0.001).Repeated measure-ment of double factor variance analysis showed that the LATCHES scores of the two groups in the time effect,inter group effect,time and group interactions were statistically significant (P<0.001).Two groups of LATCHES score changes with time were increased.However,the in-creased extent in experimental group was higher than those of control group.The implementation rate of maternal milk emptying was 53.3%in experimental group,which was higher than that of control group(2 6 .4%). The difference was statistically significant (P<0.001).Exclusive breast-feeding rate was respectively 31.5%,52.7%,59.4% at 3 D,6 week,3 month after delivery in experimental group,which was higher than that in control group (20.9%,29.7%,29.1%).The differences were statisti-cally significant (P<0.05 or P<0.001).Conclusion:Systematic nursing intervention can enhance mothers’breastfeeding skills significantly and this effect can still be seen at 3 months after delivery.The intervention also can improve exclusive breastfeeding rates at 3 days,6 weeks and 3 months after delivery.
