Appl ication of inflatable mask in pulmonary physical therapy of infant patients

Abstract：Obj ective:To probe into application of inflatable mask in pulmona-ry physical therapy of infant patients.Methods:A total of 9 5 cases of less than three year old ill children were selected who admitted in surgical ICU for more than three days and underwent mechanical ventilation from May in 2012 to May in 2013.And they were divided into observation group and con-trol group based on admission sequence;the patients in observation group re-ceived call back with inflatable mask instead of cup style call backmeth-od for pulmonary physical therapy of infant patients,and patients in control group received traditional cupped palms call back method.The occurrence of atelectasis was compared between both groups and the feeling of operators to both kinds of methods was compared.Results:The incidence of atelectasis in observation group was 10.41%,13.04% in control group,and there was no statistically significant difference between both groups.All 28 operators thought that mask instead of palm for pulmonary physical therapy of infant patients was more convenient.Conclusion:The effect of mask instead of palm for pulmonary physical therapy of infant patients is similar to traditional palm tapping method,and it can be used for clinic and its operation is superi-or to traditional method.
