Abstract:Objective To investigate the effects of modified low ligation technique during laparoscopic radical resection of colorectal cancer on postoperative gastrointestinal function recovery,inflammation/stress response, and incidence of complications. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 70 patients who underwent laparoscopic radical resection for colorectal cancer in The Sixth People's Hospital of Nantong from January 2021 to January 2025.The patients were divided into a control group(with conventional high ligation,35 cases)and a study group(with modified low ligation,35 cases)according to the intraoperative treatment method. The recovery time of gastrointestinal functions, the inflammation/stress indicators, and the incidence of complications within 30 days after surgery were compared between two groups. Results The recovery time of various gastrointestinal functions in the study group was significantly shorter than that in the control group(P<0.05).On the first and third day after surgery, both groups showed increases in inflammation/stress indicators compared with preoperative levels, but the increases in the study group were significantly smaller than those in the control group(P<0.05).The total incidence of complications in the study group was 14.29%,significantly lower than the control group's 42.86%(P<0.05).Neither group experienced perioperative mortality. The study group showed significantly lower intraoperative blood loss and shorter hospital stay with reduced total cost compared with the control group(all P<0.05).No statistically significant difference was observed in operation time between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The improved low ligation technique during laparoscopic radical resection of colorectal cancer can accelerate the recovery of gastrointestinal function, reduce postoperative inflammation/stress response, and lower the incidence of complications. It is worth promoting.
