Abstract:Objective To analyze the clinical efficacy and safety of drug-coated balloons(DCB)combined with stents in the treatment of coronary artery bifurcation lesions. Methods 84 patients with coronary bifurcation lesions who were treated in Pizhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine,Jiangsu Province from August 2023 to July 2024 were selected and grouped by propensity score matching, including 41 cases in the control group(treated with stent)and 43 cases in the observation group(treated with DCB combined with stents). The success rate of surgery, the minimum lumen diameter and lumen stenosis rate of vascular target lesions immediately after surgery and 12 months after surgery, intraoperative complications, major adverse cardiovascular events(MACE)within 12 months after surgery, and the late-stage lumen loss of blood vessels were compared between the two groups of patients. Results There was no significant difference in the success rate of surgery or the total incidence of complications between the two groups(χ2=0.397,1.114,respectively,P>0.05).There were no differences between the two groups in the minimum lumen diameter and lumen stenosis rate either for the main lumen,(t=1.868,1.270,respectively,P>0.05)or for branch lumens(t=1.898,1.174,respectively,P>0.05)immediately after the operation. At 12 months after the operation for both the main and branch lumens, the minimum lumen diameters of the observation group were larger than those of the control group, and the lumen stenosis rates were lower than those of the control group(t=2.196,3.574,4.554,5.426,respectively,P<0.05).The total incidence of MACE as well as the late-stage lumen loss of main and branch lumens in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(χ2=4.420,6.049,22.760,P<0.05).Conclusion DCB combined with stents can better improve the lumen diameter and stenosis in patients with coronary bifurcation lesions, and reduce the incidence of MACE and the late-stage lumen loss of blood vessels.
