Abstract:Objective To analyze the efficacy and safety of single-port laparoscopic hernia needle(SPLHN)surgery in the treatment of pediatric indirect inguinal hernia(IIH).Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 108 children with IIH admitted to the Department of Pediatric General Surgery at Wuxi Children's Hospital from May 2022 to June 2025.According to propensity score matching, they were divided into a study group of 57 cases and a control group of 51 cases.Among them, the study group was treated with SPLHN surgery, while the control group was treated with conventional two-port laparoscopic surgery. The perioperative indicators,24-hour postoperative inflammatory response, complications and parents'aesthetic satisfaction of the two groups of children were compared. Results There were no differences in operation time, blood loss, recovery time of bowel sounds, and hospital stay between the two groups(P>0.05).The facial expressions, leg movements, activity, crying and consolable FLACC pain score at 6 hours after operation,as well as the inflammatory response index at 24 hours after operation in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).There was no difference in the incidence of complications between the two groups(P>0.05).The cosmetic satisfaction of parents in the study group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Compared with conventional two-port laparoscopic surgery,SPLHN does not increase operation time, blood loss, hospital stay or complications, but has advantages in early pain, inflammatory response and aesthetic satisfaction.
