Abstract:Objective To observe the effect of acceptance and commitment therapy(ACT)on mental toughness, coping style and quality of life of burn patients with skin grafting. Methods A total of 86 burn patients who underwent skin grafting in our hospital from February 2021 to May 2024 were selected as the study subjects. They were divided into control group(n=43,routine care)and observation group(n=43,acceptance and commitment therapy).Wound recovery effect, mental toughness(CD-RISC),coping style(MCMQ)and quality of life(BSHS-B)were compared. Results The wound healing time and wound skin blood flow recovery time in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group(P<0.05).After intervention, the CD-RISC scores in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05),the face scores in MCMQ scores were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05),and the avoidance and yield scores in MCMQ scores were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).After intervention, the BSHS-B score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).The correlations of BSHS-B score with tenacity, optimism and self-reliance scores in CD-RISC as well as with MCMQ face scores were positive(r=0.633,0.583,0.582 and 0.548,respectively,P<0.05).The correlations of BSHS-B score with MCMQ avoidance score and with yield score were negative(r=-0.548 and-0.653,respectively,P<0.05).Conclusions ACT can improve psychological resilience, coping style and quality of life in burn patients with skin grafting. There is a positive correlation between mental toughness and active coping style in burn patients.
