Abstract:Objective To explore the teaching effect of multidisciplinary collaboration combined with standardized patients(SPs)in the training of neurosurgical residents. Methods A total of 75 trainees undergoing standardized training in the Department of Neurosurgery at the First People's Hospital of Nantong from June 2023 to June 2024 were randomly assigned into the control group and the experimental group. The control group received traditional lecture-based learning(LBL),while the experimental group received instruction from a multidisciplinary team(MDT)combined with the SP approach on the basis of traditional teaching. The training effects were compared and evaluated through assessments, including theoretical examinations, medical history collection, medical record writing, case analysis, and practical skills assessment.Surveys were conducted to assess the learning outcomes and teaching satisfaction, focusing on self-learning interest,self-directed learning ability, clinical thinking ability, teamwork and collaboration skills, practical operation ability, and doctor-patient communication skills. Results There was no significant difference in the theoretical score between the two groups(P>0.05).However,the experimental group demonstrated significant improvement in other assessments, such as practical skills assessment, learning outcome surveys, and teaching satisfaction surveys, compared with the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The multidisciplinary team(MDT)combined with the standardized patient(SP)teaching model can significantly enhance the effectiveness of training for neurosurgical residents. This teaching model can stimulate trainees'interest in learning and is also beneficial for cultivating their teamwork and clinical comprehensive abilities.
