Abstract:Currently, endoscopic technology has been widely used in thyroid cancer surgery. The non-inflatable subclavian endoscopic thyroidectomy has the advantages of concealed incision, thorough central lymph node dissection, and slight postoperative neck adhesion and swallowing sensation compared with open surgery. However, bilateral thyroidectomy via subclavian approach is difficult due to tracheal obstruction, especially in terms of exposing the contralateral recurrent laryngeal nerve, handling the entry of the recurrent laryngeal nerve into the throat, and protecting the parathyroid gland. This article elaborates on the surgical procedure in conjunction with a surgical video.
