Application of beef tongue model based on multimodal theoretical teaching in suturing training for old perineal lacerations

Abstract：Objective To use the multimodal theoretical teaching mode combined with the beef tongue model to simulate the application effect of sutures for old perineal lacerations with different degrees in clinical practice teaching and training.Methods Gynecology graduate students and inpatient trainees of Ningxia Medical University were randomly divided into the experimental group(multimodal theoretical teaching mode+beef tongue model practice)and the control group(traditional theoretical teaching mode+sponge model practice).Results In the theoretical training and surgical simulation training of the experimental group,the performance,the evaluation of the model and the number of students in the overall training evaluation were higher than those in the control group,and there were statistically significant differences(P<0.001).Conclusion Multimodal theoretical teaching can improve students'mastery of pelvic floor anatomy.The beef toung model is worth vigorously promoting in clinical practice teaching and training because it can simulate the degree of old perineal lacerations and the surgical suture skills to the greatest extent.
