Abstract:Duodenal-preserving pancreatic head resection(DPPHR)is one of the surgical methods for chronic inflammatory masses, benign and low-grade malignant tumors of the pancreatic head.To maximize the preservation of organ physiological functions,in 1972 Beger used duodenal-preserving pancreatic head resection to treat patients with chronic pancreatitis combined with pancreatic head masses.Since then, this surgical approach has been recognized by many scholars in China. This surgical approach is particularly suitable for solid pseudopapillary neoplasm of the pancreatic head.It has gradually shifted from open surgery to laparoscopic and robot-assisted duodenum-preserving pancreatic head resection, which is more minimally invasive. The perioperative safety has been significantly improved, and surgical complications have decreased. This surgical approach is worthy of promotion and application.
