Application of ileal mesentery covering method in difficult pelvic floor peritoneal closure

Abstract：Abdominoperineal resection(APR)is a traditional surgical procedure for low rectal cancer.However,following APR,a significant cavity is left in the pelvic region.The pelvic floor peritoneum is usually closed using barbed wire.For certain patients who have undergone chemoradiotherapy,direct suturing of the pelvic floor peritoneum may not be feasible.In such cases,the method of covering the pelvic floor peritoneum with the ileal mesentery can be effectively employed for suturing.
