Endoscopic thyroidectomy via total areola approach for the treatment of thyroid benign tumor

Abstract：Scarless(in the neck)endoscopic thyroidectomy(SET)has been widely used throughout the country nowadays.Compared with open thyroidectomy,SET is characterized with no scar in the neck and better cosmetic results.Endoscopic thyroidectomy via anterior thoracic approach is more popular in SET,and SET via total areola approach has the best cosmetic results.Clinically,it is very important for the surgeons to select appropriate SET approaches for different patients.Above all,every surgeon should keep in mind that disease treatment is the most important thing,and function protection is more important than cosmetic results.
