Abstract：The application of da Vinci robot(Xi)system combined with natural orifice specimen extraction(NOSES)in rectal cancer surgery is becoming increasingly mature and common.The full combination of the two gives full play to their respective advantages,integrating layer dissociation,lymphatic dissection,blood vessel anatomy,nerve protection and the concept of sterility and minimal invasiveness throughout.Therefore,robotic surgical operations,standardized surgical procedures,and minimally invasive mode of taking specimens through natural orifices have brought new progress to programmed radical surgery for rectal cancer.
