Abstract:Objective To explore the application of enhanced recovery after surgery(ERAS)nursing care in patients with cervical cancer during the perioperative period. Methods A total of 96 cervical cancer patients treated in the Gynecology Department of the author's Hospital from January 2021 to June 2022 were selected.Using a randomized controlled method, they were divided into an observation group and a control group, with 48 patients in each group. The control group received conventional perioperative nursing care for cervical cancer, while the observation group was provided with ERAS nursing care. The outcomes such as the time to first out-of-bed activity post-surgery,time to first flatus after surgery, and the average duration of postoperative urinary catheterization were observed and compared between the two groups.Additionally, the average length of hospital stay and patient satisfaction with inpatient nursing care were compared. Results With the implementation of Enhanced Recovery After Surgery(ERAS)nursing care, there were notable improvements made in several areas. The period before first out-of-bed mobilization and the time heading to first post-operative flatus in the observation group were evidently reduced in comparison with the control group, with these differences being significant statistically(P<0.05).Additionally,the average duration for urinary catheterization was considerably less within the observation group.Furthermore, the study showed a significant decrease in the average length of hospital stay for those in the observation group as compared with the control group.A noteworthy point to mention was the distinct rise in patient satisfaction concerning nursing care within the observation group,an increase that was indeed statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion ERAS nursing care,by adopting a series of optimized nursing measures before and after surgery, can effectively reduce the average length of hospital stay for patients undergoing radical surgery for cervical cancer, promote postoperative gastrointestinal function recovery, and have a positive impact on patient satisfaction with inpatient nursing care, contributing to their early postoperative recovery.
