Abstract:This experiment aimed to investigate the effects of alkaline mineral complexes(AMC)on the growth performance, nutrient apparent digestibility, and serum indices in fattening cattle.A total of 30 Hereford cattle, exhibiting comparable body condition and body weight, were randomly divided into two groups, with 15 replicates per group, and one cattle per replicate. The control group(group CON)was fed a basic diet, while the group AMC was supplemented with 10 g/(head·d)of AMC.The pre-test period was 14 days, and the formal test period was 60 days. The results showed that compared with group CON,the average daily gain(ADG)of the group AMC was significantly increased(P<0.05),and the feed-to-gain ratio(F/G)was significantly decreased(P<0.05).The apparent digestibility of dry matter(DM)in the group AMC was significantly higher than that in the group CON(P<0.05).The levels of immunoglobulin A(IgA),immunoglobulin G(IgG),immunoglobulin M(IgM),interleukin-2(IL-2),and interleukin-4(IL-4)in the group AMC were significantly higher than those in the group CON(P<0.05),while the levels of tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)and interferon-γ(IFN-γ)were significantly lower than those in the group CON(P<0.05).The total antioxidant capacity(T-AOC),and the activities of superoxide dismutase(SOD),glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px),and catalase(CAT)in the group AMC were significantly higher than those in the group CON(P<0.05),while the malondialdehyde(MDA)content was significantly lower than that in the group CON(P<0.05).The study shows that AMC can improve the growth performance, and enhance the body's antioxidant capacity and immune function of fattening cattle.
