Abstract:This experiment aimed to investigate the effects of dietary supplementation with different proportions of coated compound trace elements on the growth performance, slaughter performance, meat quality, and antioxidant function in meat ducks.A total of 400 healthy 14-day-old Cherry Valley meat ducks with similar body weight were selected and randomly divided into four groups, with five replicates per group and 20 ducks per replicate. The control group(group Ⅰ)was fed a basal diet supplemented with inorganic trace elements, while the experimental groups were fed the basal diet supplemented with 200(group Ⅱ),300(group Ⅲ),and 400 mg/kg(group Ⅳ)of coated compound trace elements, respectively. The pre-test period was seven days, and the formal test period was 28 days. The results showed that compared with group Ⅰ,the average daily gain(ADG)of group Ⅳ was significantly increased(P<0.05),and the feed-to-gain ratio(F/G)was significantly decreased(P<0.05).The drip loss of muscle was significantly reduced in each experimental group(P<0.05),while the slaughter rate was significantly increased in groups Ⅲ and Ⅳ(P<0.05),and the muscle shear force was significantly decreased(P<0.05).The manganese(Mn)content in the liver was significantly increased in each experimental group(P<0.05).The selenium(Se)content was extremely increased(P<0.01),and the iron(Fe)and zinc(Zn)concentrations were significantly increased in groups Ⅲ and Ⅳ(P<0.05).In group Ⅳ,the Se content in muscle was extremely increased(P<0.01),and the Zn content was significantly increased(P<0.05),while the Mn and Se concentrations in serum were significantly increased(P<0.05).The Fe and Mn concentrations in feces were significantly decreased in groups Ⅲ and Ⅳ(P<0.05).The activities of superoxide dismutase(SOD)and glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px)in serum were significantly increased in group Ⅳ(P<0.05),and the malondialdehyde(MDA)content was significantly decreased(P<0.05).The study shows that dietary supplementation with coated compound trace elements can effectively improve the utilization rate of trace elements, enhance growth performance, slaughter performance, meat quality, and antioxidant function in meat ducks.Among them, the dosage of 400 mg/kg shows the most significant effect.
