Abstract:This experiment aimed to investigate the effects of a compound microecological preparations composed of Bacillus coagulans and Clostridium butyricum on the production performance, egg quality, nutrient apparent metabolism rate, and Newcastle disease virus(NDV)antibody levels in laying hens.A total of 240 thirty-five-week-old Jinghong laying hens with similar body conditions were selected and randomly divided into four groups, with six replicates per group and 10 hens per replicate. The control group was fed a basal diet, while the Bacillus coagulans group,Clostridium butyricum group and compound group were fed the basal diet supplemented with 200 g/t Bacillus coagulans,200 g/t Clostridium butyricum, and 200 g/t Bacillus coagulans+200 g/t Clostridium butyricum compound microecological preparations, respectively. The pre-trial period lasted for seven days, and the formal test period lasts for 30 days. The results showed that compared with the control group, the laying rate in the compound group was significantly increased(P<0.05),while the average daily feed intake,feed-to-egg ratio, and broken egg rate were significantly decreased(P<0.05).Albumen height, yolk color,Haugh unit, and eggshell thickness were significantly increased in the compound group(P<0.05).The apparent metabolism rates of nitrogen, phosphorus, crude ash, crude protein, and calcium were significantly increased in the compound group(P<0.05).The total protein(TP)content was significantly increased(P<0.05),and the activities of total superoxide dismutase(T-SOD)and glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px)were significantly increased in the compound group(P<0.05).The serum malondialdehyde(MDA)content was significantly decreased in the compound group(P<0.05).The serum concentrations of immunoglobulin G(IgG)and immunoglobulin M(IgM)were significantly increased in the compound group(P<0.05).The NDV antibody levels was significantly increased in the compound group(P<0.05).The study indicates that dietary supplementation with 200 g/t Bacillus coagulans+200 g/t Clostridium butyricum compound microecological preparations can improve the production performance, enhance egg quality, increase nutrient apparent metabolism rate, and elevate NDV antibody levels in laying hens.
