Abstract:The experiment aimed to investigate the effects of Bacillus subtilis(BS)addition levels on the nutrient apparent digestibility and fecal microbiota of Leizhou goats.Four Leizhou goats with a body weight of(10.71±1.24)kg were selected and fed in metabolic cages, respectively.A 4 × 4 Latin square design was adopted. The control group(group A)was fed with the basal diet, while groups B,C and D were respectively supplemented with 2.5,5.0,and 7.5 g/d of BS preparations per goat in the basal diet. The experiment had four phases, each lasting 28 days, including a 23-day pre-test period and a 5-day formal test period. The results showed that compared with group A,the apparent digestibility of neutral detergent fiber in group C was significantly increased(P<0.05),and the apparent digestibility of crude fat in group D was significantly increased(P<0.05).The Coverage index of fecal microorganisms in each group was 0.990,and the richness and diversity did not change significantly(P>0.05).The dominant bacterial phyla at the phylum level across groups were primarily Firmicutes,Bacteroidetes,Spirochaetota, and Verrucomicrobiota, while the dominant genera at the genus level mainly included unclassified Lachnospiraceae,UCG-005,Christensenellaceae R-7 group,Rikenellaceae RC9 gut group, and an unnamed coprostanoligenes group.Compared with group A,the relative abundance of Christensenellaceae R-7 group in Group B was significantly increased(P<0.05),while the relative abuntivities of norank_f_F082,Prevotellaceae UCG-004,and Alistipes were significantly decreased(P<0.05).The relative abundance of unclassified Lachnospiraceae in group C was significantly increased(P<0.05),while the relative abuntivities of UCG-005,norank_f_F082,Prevotellaceae UCG-004,and Alistipes were significantly decreased(P<0.05).The relative abundance of Christensenellaceae R-7 group in group D was significantly increased(P<0.05),while the relative abundance of Prevotellaceae UCG-004 and Alistipes was significantly decreased(P<0.05).The study indicates that feeding BS can enhance the nutrient apparent digestibility, improve the structure of the flora, and increase the relative abundance of beneficial bacteria of Leizhou goats.Considering all factors, the appropriate addition amount of BS in the diet is 5.0 g/d per goat.
