Evaluation of production performance of 19 forage oat varieties in Hinggan League area

Abstract：The experiment aimed to screen high-quality forage oat varieties suitable for planting in Hinggan League area.Using 19 domestic and foreign forage oat varieties as materials,their production performance,nutritional quality and forage value were determined.The forage oat varieties were classified by the complete linkage method of square Euclidean distance,and the grey correlation degree was used for comprehensive evaluation.The results showed that Mulesihad the highest seed yield and crude protein content,which were 5 633.33 kg/hm2 and 15.46％respectively.Yanwang had the highest fresh grass yield,which was 46 000.00 kg/hm2,Tianyan NO.1 had the highest hay yield,which was 10 828.72 kg/hm2.Tianyan NO.60 had the highest dry-to-fresh ratio and the lowest acid detergent fiber content,which were 0.32 and 24.21％respectively.Helios had the highest plant height,which was 140.53 cm.Aiwo had the highest stem proportion and leaf proportion,which were 39.18％and 24.59％respectively.Meida had the highest panicle proportion,which was 58.51％.Muda had the highest leaf-to-stem ratio,which was 0.92.Tianyan NO.3 had the highest crude fat content,which was 8.57％.Tianyan NO.2 had the lowest neutral detergent fiber content and the highest relative feeding value,which were 42.23％and 148.36,respectively.The grey correlation degree analysis showed that plant height,dry-to-fresh ratio and hay yield had the higher weights,which were important indicators for variety selection.The 19 forage oat varieties could be clustered into three groups.Group Ⅰ had high seed yield,relatively high grass yield and excellent nutritional quality.Group Ⅱ had low seed yield,low grass yield and poor nutritional quality.Group Ⅲ had high grass yield,relatively high seed yield and relatively poor nutritional quality.The study indicates that Helios and Tianyan NO.3 exhibited superior comprehensive performance and are suitable for planting and promotion in the Hinggan League area.
