Abstract:This study aimed to investigate the effects of compound microbial agent fermented feed on the growth performance, body size indices, intestinal morphology, serum biochemical indices, and fecal microbiota of Zhedong white geese.A total of 135 Zhedong white geese,weighing(1.79±0.09)kg and aged 35 days, were selected and randomly divided into three groups, with three replicates per group and 15 geese per replicate. The control group was fed the basal diet, the fermented feed group Ⅰ and fermented feed group Ⅱ replaced the basal diet with 3%and 7%of the fermented feed, respectively. The pre-test period was four days, and the formal test period was 28 days. The results showed that compared with the control group, the semi-submerged body length of the Zhedong white geese in the fermented feed group Ⅰ was extremely increased(P<0.01),the body slant length was significantly increased(P<0.05),the depth of the intestinal crypts in the jejunum was extremely decreased(P<0.01),the serum total cholesterol content was significantly decreased(P<0.05),and the Shannon and Faith_pd indices of the fecal flora were significantly increased(P<0.05).At the phylum level, the abundance of the Bacteroidota phylum in the fermented feed group was significantly increased. At the genus level, the abundances of the Escherichia genus and the Enterococcus genus were significantly decreased. The study shows that adding fermented feed to the diet can improve the growth performance of the Zhedong white geese, improve the morphology of the small intestine, inhibit the growth of intestinal pathogenic bacteria, and be beneficial to the intestinal health of the Zhedong white geese. The fermented feed appropriate addition amount is 3%.
