Effects of salidroside on nutrient apparent digestibility,lactation performance,serum biochemical indicators,and rumen fermentation parameters of plateau dairy cows

Abstract：The experiment aimed to investigate the effects of salidroside on the nutrient apparent digestibility,lactation performance,serum biochemical indicators,and rumen fermentation parameters of plateau dairy cows.A total of 12 healthy Holstein cows with similar parity,body condition and milk yield in early lactation were selected and divided into control group and experimental group(Sal group),with six replicates in each group and one cow in each replicate.The control group was fed with a total mixed ration,while the Sal group was supplemented with 150 mg/(head·d)salidroside in the total mixed ration.The pre-test period was seven days and the formal test period was 35 days.The results showed that compared with the control group,the Sal group showed a tendency toward increased apparent digestibility of neutral detergent fiber,the milk yield in the Sal group was significantly increased(P＜0.05),while the milk fat percentage was significantly reduced(P＜0.05).The concentrations of serum glucose,albumin,triglyceride,and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol in the Sal group were significantly increased(P＜0.05),while total cholesterol,blood ammonia concentrations,and activity of alanine aminotransferase showed an increasing trend(P＞0.05).The study indicates that adding salidroside to the diet of plateau dairy cows can improve lactating performance,improve lipid metabolism.
