Abstract:The experiment aimed to investigate the effects of mixed metabolites of Lactobacillus buchneri and Bacillus subtilis on the growth performance, digestive enzyme activity, and intestinal tissue morphology in Guangxi Ma chickens.A total of 300 one-day-old Guangxi Ma chickens were randomly divided into five groups, with four replicates in each group and 15 chickens in each replicate. The control group(Group C)was fed the basal diet. The antibiotic group(OTC group)was fed the basal diet supplemented with 0.02%oxytetracycline.Groups Mm1,Mm2 and Mm3 were respectively fed the basal diet supplemented with 0.1%,0.5%and 1.0%of the 1∶1 metabolic products of Lactobacillus buchneri and Bacillus subtilis. The experiment lasted for 42 days. The results showed that there were no significant differences in average daily feed intake among the groups(P>0.05).The average weights at 42 days of age of the groups C,OTC,Mm1,Mm2,and Mm3 were 580.41,606.66,687.91,729.16 and 741.25 g per chicken, respectively.Compared with the groups C and OTC,the average daily gain of the mixed metabolites group from 1 to 42 days was significantly increased(P<0.05),and the feed to gain ratio was significantly decreased(P<0.05),and the feed to gain ratio of group Mm3 was the lowest.Compared with the groups C and OTC,the protease activity in the mixed metabolite groups increased(P>0.05).The amylase activity in groups Mm2 and Mm3 was significantly higher than that in group C(P<0.05),and the lipase activity in group Mm3 was significantly higher than that in other groups(P<0.05).The ratio of duodenum to ileum in group Mm2 was significantly higher than that in other groups(P<0.05).The ratio of jejunum to ileum in group Mm3 was significantly higher than that in the C group(P<0.05),and the ratio of ileum to duodenum was significantly higher than that in other groups(P<0.05).The results show that the optimal additive amount of mixed metabolites of Lactobacillus buchneri and Bacillus subtilis is 1.0%of the diet of Guangxi Ma chicken aged from 1 to 42 days.
