Abstract:The experiment aimed to investigate the influence of non genetic factors on the milk fat to protein ratio(FPR)in river buffalo at a large-scale farm in Guangxi.A total of 6 036 DHI measurement data collected from 2020 to 2023 was analyzed using SPSS 26.0 to evaluate the effects of season, parity, breed, and lactation stage. The results showed that the FPR of river buffalo in summer was significantly higher than that in spring, autumn, and winter(P<0.05).The FPR of the first pregnancy was significantly lower than that in the second and fourth pregnancy(P<0.05).The FPR of Mediterranean buffalo was significantly higher than that of Mora buffalo and Nili Lafite buffalo(P<0.05).The FPR exhibited a progressive increase with advancing lactation stages(P<0.05).The FPR of river buffalo showed a extremely negative correlation with the season(P<0.01),significant positive correlation with pregnancy(P<0.05),extremely positive correlation with the breed and lactation stage(P<0.01).The study indicates that season, pregnancy, breed, and lactation stage all have a significant impact on the FPR of river buffalo.
