Abstract:The experiment aimed to investigate the effects of using high-protein corn to replace common corn in the diet and reducing the amount of soybean meal on the laying performance and egg quality of laying hens.Four hundred and fifty 34-week-old Jingfen No.6 laying hens were randomly divided into three groups with 10 replicates per group and 15 hens per replicate. The control group was fed a basal diet(soybean meal ratio of 23.00%),group Ⅰ replaced 50.00%common corn with high-protein corn(soybean meal ratio of 21.00%),and group Ⅱ replaced 100.00%common corn with high-protein corn(soybean meal ratio of 19.00%).The pre-test period was five days and the formal test period was 30 days. The results showed that during each period of the experiment, the average daily feed intake of group Ⅱ was extremely lower than that of the control group(P<0.01).During the one to 10 days and the one to 30 days, the feed-to-egg ratio in group Ⅱ was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).During the 21 to 30 days, the average egg weight in group Ⅱ was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).On the 10th day of the experiment, the yolk weight of group Ⅱ was significantly lower than that of the control group(P<0.05).On the 20th day of the experiment, the Haugh unit and protein height in group Ⅱ were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05),and the yolk color was significantly lower than that in group Ⅰ(P<0.05).On the 30th day of the experiment, there were no significant differences in egg quality indicators among each group(P>0.05).On the 10th day of the experiment, the cholesterol content in the eggs of group Ⅰ was significantly higher than that of the other groups(P<0.05).On the 20th day of the experiment, the crude protein content in the eggs of group Ⅰ was significantly lower than that of group Ⅱ(P<0.05).On the 30th day of the experiment, the total cholesterol content in the eggs of group Ⅱ was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).The study indicates that using high protein corn instead of common corn and reducing the amount of soybean meal in the diet of laying hens has no adverse effects on laying performance, egg quality and egg nutritional composition, and the proportion of soybean meal should not be less than 19.00%.
