Abstract:This study aimed to investigate the effects of compound acidifier and plant essential oil on the growth performance, serum biochemical indexes, antioxidant capacity, and anti-inflammatory function of hybrid broilers.Six hundreds of one-day-old Yisheng 909 male hybrid broilers were randomly divided into four groups with six replicates in each group and 25 chickens in each replicate. The control group was fed the basal diet, and the test groups were fed the basal diet supplemented with 200,300 and 400 mg/kg compound acidifier and plant essential oil, respectively. The test period was 42 days. The results showed that compared with the control group, the body weight and average daily gain of broilers at 21 and 42 days of age in the 300 mg/kg group were significantly increased(P<0.05),and the feed to gain ratio was significantly decreased(P<0.05).The serum total protein content of 42 day old broilers in 400 mg/kg group was significantly increased(P<0.05).Adding compound acidifier and plant essential oil could significantly increase the content of serum albumin at 21 and 42 days of age(P<0.05),and significantly reduce the content of serum urea nitrogen(P<0.05).The addition of compound acidifier and plant essential oil could significantly increase the serum total antioxidant capacity and catalase activity, and the serum glutathione peroxidase activity at 21 days of age(P<0.05),and significantly reduce the content of MDA(P<0.05).The total superoxide dismutase activity in 300 mg/kg group was significantly increased(P<0.05).Adding compound acidifier and plant essential oil could significantly reduce the contents of serum interleukin-1βand interleukin-6,and the content of serum tumor necrosis factor-α at 42 days of age(P<0.05),and significantly increase the lysozyme activity and immunoglobulin G content(P<0.05).The content of interleukin-10 at 42 days of age in 300 and 400 mg/kg groups were significantly increased(P<0.05).The results show that the optimal dosage of compound acidifier and plant essential oil in hybrid broilers is 300 mg/kg.
