Abstract:The purpose of the trial was to investigate the effects of different resistant starch(RS)on the growth performance, slaughter performance, organ index, and gut health of goslings.A total of 450 one-day-old Yangzhou geese were randomly divided into nine groups, with five replicates in each group and 10 goslings in each replicate. The control group(CG group)was fed with 18%crude protein base diet, the model group(MG group)was fed with 21%crude protein diet, and the experimental group was fed with 5%fast-digesting starch(RDS),and 2.5%and 5.0%RS in the 21%crude protein diet, respectively, and RS included acetate starch(ASH),hydroxypropyl starch(HSH)and octenylsuccinate starch(OSH).The pre-test period was seven days, and the formal test period was 42 days. The results showed that compared with the MG group, the average daily feed intake of the goslings in the ASH,HSH,and OSH groups was significantly lower(P<0.05).Compared with the RDS group, the final weight, total weight gain, and average daily gain of the goslings in the 5.0%HSH group were significantly increased(P<0.05).The ratio of grain to weight in the RDS group was the highest, and the ratio of weight in the 5.0%HSH and 5.0%OSH groups was significantly lower than that in the RDS group(P<0.05).Compared with the MG group and RDS group, the chest width, chest depth, and tibial circumference of the CG group were significantly increased(P<0.05),the chest width and chest depth of the 5.0%ASH,5.0%HSH,and 5.0%OSH groups were significantly increased(P<0.05),and the half-dive length of the 5.0%HSH group was significantly increased(P<0.05).Compared with the RDS group, the carcass weight,half-clearance weight, and full-clearance weight of the goslings in the 5.0%HSH group were significantly increased(P<0.05),and the heart weight of the goslings in the 2.5%HSH group was significantly increased(P<0.05).The level of liver development in the CG group was higher than that in the other groups.Compared with the MG group, the crypt depth of the jejunum and ileum of the CG group was significantly decreased(P<0.05),and the ratio of the villus height to the crypt depths was significantly increased(P<0.05).Compared with the RDS group, the villus height of the jejunum and ileum of the goslings in the ASH and HSH groups was significantly increased(P<0.05).Studies show that supplementation with 5.0%HSH in the diet can best improve the growth performance of goslings, the addition of 5.0%ASH has the best effect on the improvement of the intestinal structure of goslings.
