Abstract:The study was to optimize the optimum conditions for ultrasonic assisted extraction of polyphenols from Camellia oleifera shell by single factor test combined with the response surface method, and to evaluate its antioxidant activity by measuring the total reducing capacity,1,1-diphenyl-2-trinitrophenylhydrazine(DPPH)free radical and hydroxyl free radical scavenging capacity. The results showed that the optimal extraction parameters for ultrasound assisted extraction of Camellia oleifera shell polyphenols are as follows:Liquid-to-solid ratio of 40 mL/g,ultrasonic power of 468 W,ultrasonic time of 40 min, extraction temperature of 50℃,and extraction time of 15 min.Under these conditions, the yield of Camellia oleifera shell polyphenols was(63.35±0.67)mg/g.When the mass concentration was 0.6 g/L,the total reduction capacity of Camellia oleifera shell polyphenols reached the maximum value of 0.633.When the mass concentration was 1.0 g/L,the scavenging rates of Camellia oleifera shell polyphenols against DPPH free radical and hydroxyl free radical were 66.67%and 65.77%,respectively.The study demonstrates that Camellia oleifera shell polyphenols exhibit good antioxidant effects and have potential for development as feed additives.
