Abstract:The study aimed to evaluate the effects of plant polysaccharides on the growth performance of sheep by Meta-analysis.Articles published between January 2000 and December 2023 in databases such as CNKI,CQVIP,Wanfang,Web of Science, and PubMed,focusing on the impact of plant polysaccharides on sheep growth performance, were retrieved.A total of 26 randomized controlled trials were selected for Meta-analysis,with a focus on the effects of plant polysaccharides on growth performance-related indicators in sheep. The results showed that the addition of plant polysaccharides to the diet significantly increased the average daily gain(ADG)and average daily feed intake(ADFI)of sheep(P<0.05),and significantly reduced the feed-to-gain ratio(F/G)(P<0.05).Subgroup analysis revealed that both the duration of feeding and the dosage of plant polysaccharides significantly affected ADG and F/G in sheep(P<0.05).When the dosage of plant polysaccharides was ≤1 g/kg,it significantly improved ADFI(P<0.05),while dosages exceeding 1 g/kg showed no significant effect on ADFI(P>0.05).The study indicates that the addition of plant polysaccharides to the diet has a significant positive impact on the growth performance of sheep.
