Abstract:The aim of this experiment was to study the main bioactive components and in vitro antioxidant activity of the water extracts of Artemisia ordosica(AOE)at different cutting stages.A single factor completely randomized experiment was used to prepare the AOE after cutting in July,August,September and October, respectively. The concentrations of polysaccharide, total phenol and total flavone of AOE and their reducing power to iron ion,the scavenging rate of hydroxyl radical and the scavenging rate of 1,1-diphenyl-2-trinitrophenylhydrazine(DPPH)free radical were determined at different cutting periods. The results showed that the in vitro antioxidant activity of AOE prepared by different cutting months increased with the increase of diluent concentration, and then tended to be stable.Compared with August,September and October, the total phenol content and total flavone content of AOE prepared by cutting in July were the highest, and the antioxidant activity was the strongest.Compared with July,September and October, the polysaccharide content of AOE prepared by cutting in August was the highest, and the in vitro antioxidant activity was lower than that in July. The comprehensive evaluation of AOE antioxidant capacity(APC)index was extremely positively correlated with total phenol content(P<0.01),and significantly positively correlated with the total flavonoid content(P<0.05).The study indicates that Artemisia ordosica can be used as a potential natural antioxidant resource. The bioactive components and in vitro antioxidant activities of Artemisia ordosica are different in different cutting stages, and the preparation of water extract of Artemisia ordosica mowed in July is better.
