Abstract:The purpose of this experiment was to investigate the differences of laying performance, egg quality, and nutrient composition of different breeds of chickens.A total of 360 hens(120 each of Jingyuan chicken,Taiping chicken, and Hyline brown laying hens)at 20 weeks of age were selected and divided into three groups, with six replicates per group and 20 hens per replicate.Egg quality, nutrition composition, amino acid content, and fatty acid content were measured using standard methods. The pre-trial period lasted 14 days, and the formal trial period was 120 days. The results showed that compared with Hyline brown laying hens, the average egg weight of Jingyuan and Taiping chicken was significantly decreased(P<0.05),the yolk color,Haugh unit and protein height were significantly increased(P<0.05),and the contents of crude protein and crude fat were significantly increased(P<0.05).Taiping chicken eggs contained higher levels of essential amino acids(EAA),total fatty acids(TFA),and unsaturated fatty acids(USFA)than Hyline brown and Jingyuan eggs. The study indicates that all three breeds produced eggs with high nutritional value, but Taiping chicken eggs had superior quality and nutritional value compared to Jingyuan and Hyline brown laying hens.
