Abstract:The experiment aimed to investigate the effects of defatted black soldier fly larvae meal replacing fish meal on the growth performance and muscle quality of largemouth bass(Micropterus salmoides).A total of 240 largemouth bass juveniles with an average weight of(11.4±0.3)g were randomly divided into four groups, with three replicates per group and 20 fish per replicate. The control group(CK group)was fed a basal diet, while the experimental groups were fed diets with defatted black soldier fly larvae meal replacing 25%(S25 group),50%(S50 group),and 75%(S75 group)of the fish meal in the basal diet. The trial period lasted for 42 days. The results showed that there were no significant differences in final weight, weight gain rate, specific growth rate, feed coefficient, and condition factor between the experimental groups and the CK group(P>0.05),the liver-to-body ratio in the experimental groups gradually increased. The content of aspartic acid in the muscle of the S25 and S75 groups was significantly reduced(P<0.05),and the content of alanine in the muscle of the S75 group was significantly reduced(P<0.05).The concentrations of C12:0,n-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids, and total fatty acids in the muscle of the S75 group were significantly increased(P<0.05),while the concentrations of C22:5(n-3),C22:1(n-9),and n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids were significantly decreased(P<0.05).The content of C20:5(n-3)in the muscle of the S25 and S75 groups was significantly reduced(P<0.05).The study indicates that replacing 75%of fish meal with defatted black soldier fly larvae meal does not affect the growth performance and can increase the total fatty acid and n-6 polyunsaturated fatty acid content in the muscle of largemouth bass, while reducing the n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid content.
