Abstract:The experiment aimed to investigate the effects of fucoidan on the growth performance, immune function, and antioxidant capacity of Micropterus salmoides.A total of 90 healthy Micropterus salmoides were randomly divided into three groups, with three replicates per group and 10 fish per replicate. The control group(group D0)was fed a basal diet, while groups D1 and D2 were supplemented with 0.5%and 1.0%fucoidan,respectively.The experiment lasted for 60 days. The results showed that the addition of different levels of fucoidan had no significant impact on the growth performance of Micropterus salmoides(P>0.05).Compared to the control group, the concentrations of triglycerides(TG),total cholesterol(TC),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),malondialdehyde(MDA),and glutamic-pyruvic transaminase(ALT)activity in the serum of Micropterus salmoides in groups D1 and D2 were significantly reduced(P<0.05),while the activities of alkaline phosphatase(AKP),lysozyme(LZM),and superoxide dismutase(SOD)were significantly increased(P<0.05).In group D1,the activity of glutamic-oxaloacetic transaminase(AST)in the serum was significantly reduced(P<0.05),and the activity of catalase(CAT)was significantly increased(P<0.05).Compared to the control group, the activity of SOD in the liver of Micropterus salmoides in groups D1 and D2 was significantly increased(P<0.05),the activity of CAT in the liver of group D1 was significantly increased(P<0.05),and the content of MDA was significantly reduced(P<0.05).Compared to the control group, the activities of CAT and SOD in the spleen of Micropterus salmoides in group D1 were significantly increased(P<0.05),and the content of MDA in the spleen of group D2 was significantly reduced(P<0.05).The study indicates that the addition of 0.5%fucoidan in the diet is most effective in regulating lipid metabolism, enhancing immunity, and improving antioxidant capacity in Micropterus salmoides.
