Abstract:The experiment aimed to investigate the effects of orange orchard goose grazing model on the growth performance, slaughter performance, and serum biochemical indexes of Zhedong white goose. The trial selected 200 Zhedong white geese at 21 days of age, randomly divided into Group A(housing group)and Group B(grazing+supplementary feeding group),with five replicates per group and 20 geese per replicate. The pre-test lasted for seven days and the formal test lasted for 42 days. The results showed that from 42 to 56 days of age,the body weight of geese in Group B was significantly lower than that in Group A(P<0.05),and from 43 to 70 days of age,the weight gain of Group B was significantly higher than that of Group A(P<0.05).The shank circumference, shank length, breast muscle ratio, and leg muscle ratio of geese in Group B were significantly higher than those in Group A(P<0.05),while the abdominal fat ratio was significantly lower than that in Group A(P<0.05).The total cholesterol level in the serum of geese in Group B was significantly lower than those in Group A(P<0.05),and the albumin/globulin ratio and immunoglobulin M(IgM)level were significantly higher than those in Group A(P<0.05).The study indicates that the orange orchard goose grazing model(grazing+supplementary feeding)can achieve comparable growth performance to housing, while also improving slaughter performance, lipid metabolism function, and immunity.
