Abstract:Ultrasonic assisted extraction was used to extract total alkaloids from mulberry leaves, and the extraction conditions were optimized by orthogonal test on the basis of single-factor experiments, and the antioxidant and bacteriostatic activities of alkaloids in mulberry leaves were studied. The results showed that the optimal extraction conditions of total alkaloids in mulberry leaves were as follows:ethanol volume fraction 50%,liquid to material ratio of 25 mL/g,extraction temperature of 70℃,and extraction time of 40 min.At the same concentration(0.2~1.0 g/L),the scavenging rates of DPPH and ABTS+ radicals by the total alkaloids in mulberry leaves were 85.5%and 96.3%,respectively,indicating that its antioxidant resistance was stronger than that of vitamin C.The total alkaloids in mulberry leaves had a stronger inhibitory effect on bacteria than sorbic acid and ethanol solution, and had a strong inhibitory effect on bacteria with a diameter greater than 10 mm against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. The study indicates that the total alkaloids in mulberry leaves can be used as functional feed additives in animal breeding industry.
