Abstract:The experiment aimed to investigate the effect of carbohydrate on silage quality, aerobic stability and microbial population of Leymus chinensis silage.Four groups were set up,namely control group(without additives),glucose group(2%FM),sucrose group(2%FM)and fructose group(2%FM),with three replicates in each group. The results showed that the addition of sugars significantly increased the dry matter, crude protein, soluble carbohydrate and lactic acid content, reduced pH value and ammonia nitrogen content, promoted the growth of lactic acid bacteria and reduced the number of yeast and aerobic bacteria in Leymus chinensis silage during silage fermentation, with the addition of sucrose being more effective than glucose and fructose.During aerobic exposure, the addition of sugars significantly reduced the aerobic stability of Leymus chinensis silage, accelerated the occurrence of secondary fermentation and aerobic deterioration, significantly reduced the quality of silage, significantly increased the number of yeasts, aerobic bacteria and molds, and seriously deteriorated the quality of silage. The study indicates that the addition of sugars can effectively improve the silage quality of Leymus chinensis silage, but it will reduce the aerobic stability of the feed, and it needs to be used as soon as possible after opening the bag to avoid mold deterioration.
