Abstract:Objective To investigate the method and effect of methylene blue angiography on the hybrid operation of spinal vascular malformation .Methods A femoral artery puncture was performed in supine position ,a long sheath was indwelled with the vitro length about 20 cm ,and was fixed on the out-side of the buttocks after the sterile package .On the hybrid operation of spinal vascular malformation in prone position ,a catheter was put deep into the feeding artery ,an iodine contrast medium and a methyl-ene blue angiography were performed respectively .An evoked potential was used to detect the function of spinal cord in the procedure of methylene blue angiography .Results Fourty - six (male :31 ,female :15) cases of methylene blue angiography were performed on the hybrid operation of spinal vascular malfor-mation from July 2013 to September 2015 .Among them ,the average was 35 .6 years old (13 ~ 65 years) . Intramedullary arteriovenous malformations were 30 cases ,and perimedullary arteriovenous fistulas were 16 cases .Complete resections of spinal vascular malformation were performed in 38 cases (81 .6% ) ,and incomplete resections were performed in 8 cases (18 .4% ) of intramedullary arteriovenous malformation to reserve the spinal cord function .There was no changes in the voked potential in methylene blue angi-ography .Conclusions In the hybrid operation of spinal vascular malformation ,the methylene blue angi-ography is an easy ,safe and efficient method to reveal the angioarchitecture of nidus .
