SAPAP3 gene polymorphism and its association with obsessive -compulsive disorder in Han population:a case control study
Abstract:Objective To investigate the association between SAPAP3 gene polymorphism and ob‐sessive -compulsive disorder (OCD) in the Han population .Methods OCD patients (n = 578) and healthy controls (n= 649)were recruited from the Shanghai Mental Health Center .TaqMan SNP geno‐typing assay was adopted and the genotypes of rs7555884 were detected to explore the association be‐tween rs7555884 and OCD .Results The distribution of genotypic frequency of rs7555884 was consistent with Hardy -Weinberg equilibrium (P > 0 .05) .The frequencies of allele and genotype of rs7555884 showed no significant difference between OCD group and control group (P > 0 .05) .Because of differ‐ences in gender proportion (P < 0 .05) ,we compared their data using gender stratification between the two groups ;and no statistical differences were found (P > 0 .05) .Conclusions The SAPAP3 SNP rs7555884 may not be associated with OCD in the Han population .
