Abstract:Objective To investigate the association between the polymorphism of C270T sites in BDNF gene and schizophrenia in Chinese Han population .Methods The inclusion criteria were based on searching and reviewing the literatures involved in BDNF C270T polymorphism and schizophrenia and calculating the pooled OR .We studied the heterogeneity and the publication sensitivity with Rev -Man 5 .1 software in the literatures eligible .Results Six case-control studies were included .The results of meta-analyses showed there was significant difference between T allele and C allele (OR = 2 .74 , 95% CI =1 .64-4 .57 ,P< 0 .01) ,genotype TT/(CC+CT) (OR =2 .21 ,95% CI =1 .30-3 .78 ,P<0 .01) ,genotype CT/(CC+ TT) (OR = 2 .75 ,95% CI = 1 .44 -5 .27 ,P < 0 .01) ,and genotype CC/(CT+ TT) (OR =0 .34 ,95% CI =0 .20 -0 .58 ,P < 0 .01) .Conclusions BDNF gene polymorphism C270T site may be associated with susceptibility of schizophrenia in Chinese Han population .
